We’ll see you in August!
Next year is already in the works!
Folks, we’re already working on next year. You’ll come up to the cabins Thursday night and be able to ride Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We’ll have the race again and a couple of other nice surprises. Also: night riding! I’ll post up as soon as the date is finalized. I’m going to try to move it closer to July.
YAY BIKES!!!
Results!
Photos!
While we’re waiting on the results file to post, here’s the link to the photos that TED KETAI took this weekend:
Thank You!!!
Thank you to everyone who came out to play this weekend in the Mendocino Woodlands State Park and Jackson Demonstration State Forest with us! I hope you all enjoyed yourselves enough that you will want to come back again next year. I want to make it bigger, longer and have more bikes and more riders and more rides. If you keep lovin’ it we’ll keep doing it! Thanks to Emily McLanahan for not laughing at me when I showed her the budget and told her it would be a hit. I would not have been able to put this together without Emily’s support and help all along the way!!
A huge THANK YOU and BRO HUGS to all the Mendocino Coast Cyclists who came out to be guides for this weekends Mendocino Mountain Bike Madness event. You guys sure know how to ride! You’re batting 1000 because you’re getting lots of comments about how much fun it was. Everybody loved it. Let’s do it again next year?
Special thanks to Jessie “the BIg Sprite” Stafford and Nick Taylor for getting the new bridges in place and corners shored up. Also thanks again to Nick Taylor for the one-of-a-kind world class trophies. Those will be cherished forever by their new owners. Thank you Amy Wyn for all of the organizational and permit help too. This would not have been as smooth as it was without you. There was not a single hitch to the whole weekend (that I know of). The MCC for their trail work days too! The course was, in the words of a long time local “better than it’s ever been!”. I think it proves that at this point, MORE BIKES on the trails there is the answer. Thank you to Ben Jammin and Paul Garvin for marking the course, you guys did a spectacular job. No matter how cross-eyed racers were the correct way was always obvious.
Our sponsors need your love too! E13/The Hive, New Belgium Brewing, Mike’s Bikes and their awesome team of support mechanics, Advanced Autowerks, Cedar Cycling for all the super high end wool gear, Phil Wood, Sycip, ClifBar and EventBrite too.
Thank you to Crag P. from CalFire and Cyrus at the Woodlands park. Had they not believed we could have pulled it off it would not have happend.
Now a word from our sponsor: ADVANCED AUTOWERKS
Would you get auto service from this man? OF COURSE YOU WOULD!
The coolest trophies you have ever seen!
These two amazing trophies were handcrafted in Ft. Bragg by none other than Mr. J.Nick Taylor. You may know Nick from such projects as the IBIS MAXIMUS or Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate, aka The Chicago Bean in Millennium Park. Nick took some of his free time (when he was not shredding trails or creating other ultra rad, ultra high end art pieces) to create these two trophies exclusively for this event. They will go to the top non-pro men’s and women’s racers this weekend. This is something that you will keep forever and people will always want to ask you about. To the victor go the spoils and this could be yours, but you’ve got to enter to win: SIGN UP NOW!
And now a word about SINGLESPEEDING and BRANDING…
So… you’re hardcore. You’re a SINGLESPEEDER. You don’t let yourself be defined by convention… you’re a lone wolf… an outlaw… a RENEGADE. What better way to let people see this side of you than with your own brand?
Like this one:
You’re nobody’s patsy. You’re not dropping into a singlespeed race because your corporate sponsor told you to. You’re there to EARN something. Something that LASTS. You’re It’s going to leave a mark.
This is how you’re going to do it.
Photos from camp today!
We went out to the camp today. It’s sunny and in the mid 70s, the trails are tacky and there is a light breeze. We have a lot of unused space so if you’re thinking about coming DO IT! We have the whole canyon/valley to ourselves and it’s going to be AWESOME.
We’ve got a ticket to ride!
State Parks permit in hand! Get registered and GET UP HERE! Trails are super tacky- photos and video clips to come later today!
